Flexibility Prediction from Sequence

Proteins are in solution as ensembles of structurally diverse conformational states. These ensembles can demonstrate different degrees of structural variety, ranging from almost slow fluctuation to highly flexible protein regions. As a result, the scale of protein dynamics occurs at very different time and amplitude from relatively short time local fluctuation to movements with large amplitudes and longe time scale such as domain or subunit displacement. Therefore, The knowledge about flexibility and dynamic have received much attention due to their important roles in the cellular functions such as signal transduction, allosteric regulation, protein protein and protein small ligand interactions, assembly of macromolecular machines and thermal enzymatic adaptation.
